KING CITY — King City High School’s 2025 Homecoming Week was bursting with Mustang pride as the school came together to celebrate one of its most cherished traditions.

Students showed incredible spirit from the start, buying mums and filling the halls with colorful posters that displayed creativity and school pride.

The week of Oct. 20 featured the traditional Mr. Mustang penny collection by five varsity football players — Fernando Camacho, Alexander Macias, Armando Villasenor, Emmanuel Garcia-Loa and Johell Carrillo — along with a fun and energetic rally that brought everyone together, followed by the lively Homecoming parade that highlighted the talented students and community members.

Lunchtime activities kept the excitement going hosted by the KCHS leadership class, and Friday night’s packed blue out football game further elevated the Mustang spirit with a thrilling win against Pacific Grove by a score of 45-0.

During halftime, the Homecoming Court was introduced and the crowning of king and queen took place. Lord Cody Hancock and Lady Jayline Rodriguez represented the freshmen class; Duke Eli Esparza and Duchess Italia Nuno represented the sophomore class; and Prince Sebastian Garcia and Princess Isabella Hernandez-Swift represented the junior class.

The Homecoming royalty was announced, with seniors Kaylin Arvizu and Logan Ibarra declared as the 2025 Homecoming Queen and King.

The school’s long-standing traditions — the lighting of the “KC” to the King City High School alma mater and the moving of the Homecoming horseshoe — reminded all of the pride and unity that define the school from the rest. The week ended on a high note with a memorable Homecoming dance.

Students are thankful for the community members, staff and volunteers whose support and dedication made this incredible celebration of Mustang pride possible.
