KING CITY — On Jan. 22, the victim of a sexual assault reported being attacked by Christopher Rios of the King City area, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies contacted the victim, who had many physical injuries, and after interviews and evidence collection, MCSO detectives determined they had probable cause to arrest Rios.
“With the assistance of the Monterey County Probation Department, detectives were able to locate Rios and place him under arrest,” stated MCSO in a news release. “Rios was on parole and was on probation for other crimes as he had an extensive criminal history.”
Rios was booked in county jail for the following crimes: kidnapping, rape, sodomy, false imprisonment and oral copulation by means of force or violence.
“At the time of arrest, Rios was being investigated for similar crimes with other victims and there is a strong possibility there may be more victims that have not come forward to report their assaults,” stated MCSO.
