KING CITY — A search warrant was served Friday morning in King City as part of an ongoing investigation into last October’s attempted homicide on Amherst Drive.
Detectives from the South County Major Crimes Unit (MCU), a collaborative unit of the Greenfield and King City police departments, and personnel with the Salinas Police Department served a search warrant Jan. 29 at about 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Brighton Avenue in King City.
No other details have been released.
“The investigation is continuing at this time, and no further information is being released,” police said in a news release.
On Oct. 7, King City police officers responded to a call shortly before 8 p.m. regarding a gunshot victim in the 1200 block of Amherst Drive.
The victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas for treatment.
MCU detectives responded and continued the investigation into the assault. At the time, police said the shooting suspect was unknown and remained at large.
