KING CITY — About 133 King City High School student-athletes received free sports physicals June 7 at the Mustangs gym.

Thanks to the planning and coordination of Sarah Nash and Dr. Steve Harrison, along with local doctors and physician assistant students from California State University, Monterey Bay, the student-athletes are ready to prepare for the fall sports season.

“This will enable these students to compete in any sports they wish for the entire 2019-20 school year,” said new King City Athletic Director Anthony Velasquez. The event was the also coordinated by outgoing Athletic Director Ralph Rianda.

Donating their medical services were: Drs. Steve Harrison, Bruce Greenberg, Christine Ponzio, Oscar Gantes and Leah Dahlford, and physician assistant students Rigoberto Ramos, Luke Schilling, Dechen Yangkyi and Tiffany Hoang.

Helping out from the King City coaching staff the night of the physicals were: Frank Padilla, Stephanie Hart, Jessica Potts, Christine Luna, Cheryll Hill, Nicole Garcia, Michelle Bianchi-Miner, Mac Villanueva, Jeremy Sarina, Matt Mendez, Lorenzo Espino and Orlando Zendejas.

Also assisting were: Christina Mendez, Liz Hernandez, Assistant Principal Mike Gray, Ralph Rianda, Anthony Velasquez and coordinator Sarah Nash.
