RECREATION WORKSHOP

GREENFIELD — A Greenfield Recreation Department workshop has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. City staff will share the department’s work and progress as well as engage in a dialogue to benefit the community. Public comments can be made in person at City Hall or via Zoom (Meeting ID: 819 1756 2171). The workshop was originally scheduled for Aug. 30 but was moved due to “unforeseen circumstances,” according to the City of Greenfield.


LEADERSHIP AWARDS

SALINAS — Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its Legacy of Leadership Awards on Thursday, Sept. 8, in the Taylor Building Courtyard, 150 Main St., in Salinas from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. At this special event, the Chamber will award a select few who have made tremendous positive impacts in the community. BOOK SIGNING

KING CITY — The public is invited to attend the event, “Book Signing in the Barn,” scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum at San Lorenzo Park in King City. Authors Howard P. Strohn and John and Karen Jernigan will be available to talk about their recently published historical book called “Images of America: King City,” which features 200 images of the town and surrounding area. The event is sponsored by MCARLM in partnership with the San Antonio Valley Historical Association and the Nacitone Foundation. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by The Cork & Plough.

GONZALES — Gonzales Fire Department offers free blood pressure checks Monday through Friday, when available. Community members can call the station at 831-675-4204 or ring the doorbell to see if anyone is available for a blood pressure check. Gonzales Fire Station is at 325 Center St.
