FUN RUN

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Union School District Parent Academy, in collaboration with the Greenfield Recreation Department and Greenfield Police Department, has planned a Fun Run and Field Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Vista Verde Middle School, 1199 Elm Ave., in Greenfield. There will be a 3K run, field games, food, drinks, music and more beginning at 9 a.m.


VALLEY AWARDS

SOLEDAD — National Steinbeck Center will host the 16th Annual Valley of the World Awards on Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at 5 p.m. at Braga Family Farm, 33750 Moranda Road, in Soledad. The 2022 honorees are: King City High School Agriculture Department and FFA, Education Award; Norm Groot, Ag Leader Award; and the Braga Family, Hall of Fame Award. LISTENING SESSION

KING CITY — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and King City Mayor Mike LeBarre are hosting a community listening session on Monday, Oct. 3, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 212 S. Vanderhurst Ave., in King City. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community, city and county government.

SALINAS — In honor of National Drive Electric Day, Ecology Action is hosting its seventh annual Salinas Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive Event on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amtrak Station Parking Lot, 11 Station Place, in Salinas. This free family event showcases electric vehicles at all affordability levels and is an opportunity for the community to view, learn and test-drive electric cars.
