SUPERMARKET JOBS

SALINAS — Monterey County Workforce Development Board is partnering with Vallarta Supermarket for an in-person job fair on Thursday, Oct. 26, at America’s Job Center at 344 Salinas St., rooms #205-206 in Salinas. Vallarta Supermarket is gearing up for its November grand opening celebration and is looking to hire over 160 individuals throughout the store. Jobseekers are encouraged to attend the job fair from 2 to 5 p.m. to learn more.


FALL FESTIVAL

GONZALES — The City of Gonzales is looking for community members willing to participate in the Trunk or Treat Contest as part of the 2023 Fall Festival taking place on Fourth Street on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. In addition to the contest, there will be food, games, a pumpkin patch and more. DAY OF THE DEAD

KING CITY — Preparations for King City’s Dia de Los Muertos Celebration — including a community altar at Sol Treasures and parade and festival at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds — are in full swing, thanks to the joint efforts of Sol Treasures and La Cocina, with funding from Aera Energy, Echnique Foundation, McGives and Yellow Brick Road. The community event is set for Sunday, Oct. 29, and everyone is invited to participate in making this tradition started by La Cocina a memorable celebration. There will be free face painting prior to the parade from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Third Street, down to San Lorenzo Street and end at the Fairgrounds on Division Street, where the celebration will continue from 12 to 3 p.m. with dancing, music, activities, food and drinks. The community altar will be exhibited through Nov. 5 at Sol Treasures, 519 Broadway St.
