COAT DRIVE

KING CITY — Mee Memorial Healthcare System’s HR team has organized a Thanksgiving community coat drive for kids. The community can help by donating new or gently used coats for local school students ages 4-12. Drop off donations in the barrel located inside the Mee Memorial Hospital lobby, 300 Canal St., in King City before Monday, Nov. 20.


COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

SOLEDAD — City of Soledad and El Pajaro Community Development Corporation are inviting local businesses for the final coffee and conversation event of 2023 with the Community and Economic Development team on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 8 a.m. in the Council Chambers at Soledad City Hall, 248 Main St. Special guest will be Carmen Herrera-Mansir, executive director of El Pajaro CDC. WILDLIFE GRANTS

MONTEREY COUNTY — The County of Monterey offers grant funding for projects that enhance or improve local wildlife, and the application window for this funding is open until Nov. 17. These grants can support a wide variety of work, from boots on the ground habitat or environmental projects to education and scientific research. A total of $40,000 is available, and grants typically range from $2,000 to $10,000 but may be approved in any amount. Funds are provided by the Propagation Grant Fund to eligible persons or organizations. The Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission reviews grant applications and makes funding recommendations to the County Board of Supervisors for a final decision.
