RESURFACING PROJECT
KING CITY — King City Tennis Courts are now closed for renovation. Resurfacing of the courts located adjacent to the King City Golf Course began last week and is anticipated to be completed within three weeks. It will include resurfacing of all the courts, and one court will be converted to four new pickleball courts. A separate project to add a pedestrian access ramp to the facility will be added later in association with improvements to the Golf Course. The project will be funded by a state grant made possible by State Sen. Anna Caballero. The grant will also fund other improvements to the King City Pools and City Park. Anyone with questions may contact the Recreation Office at 831-385-6748.
SPLASH PAD
SOLEDAD — Just in time for the summer heat, the City of Soledad has announced the seasonal reopening of the splash pad at Orchard Lane Park. Beginning May 24, the splash pad will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 1. This popular feature provides a free, family-friendly way for community members to enjoy the outdoors, cool off and make lasting summer memories. The splash pad is located at Orchard Lane Park (300 Orchard Lane) and is open to all ages. To enhance the weekend experience, the City is launching a new Park Attendant Pilot Program this summer. On Saturdays and Sundays, a dedicated park attendant will be on-site to support the public, monitor the facility and provide light recreation activities for children and families. “We’re thrilled to offer this seasonal amenity once again,” said Jessica Potts, Parks and Recreation director. “The splash pad is a great way for families to beat the heat, enjoy our parks and spend quality time together, all at no cost.” Visitors are encouraged to bring sunscreen, towels and water, and to follow posted rules and safety guidelines.
