AIR QUALITY MAP

CENTRAL COAST — Monterey Bay Air Resources District (MBARD) has released an updated air quality map using information generated from its regulatory air monitors and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) sensor network. MBARD’s updates made important improvements over the prior version, including regulatory air monitoring stations and graphs of the data for each location to show trends in air quality. In addition, the data is now available to download from MBARD’s website. This network was originally intended to track smoke concentrations from wildfires. The particulate sensor network has been especially useful recently when tracking potential particulate matter impacts associated with emissions from the recent battery facility fire at Moss Landing.
