SPARTANS PARADE

GONZALES — A parade celebrating the Gonzales High School varsity boys’ soccer team is planned for Thursday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m. (NEW TIME), starting and ending at Spartan Alley off Fifth Street — the circular route includes Elko Street, Fairview Drive and Center Street. (The school recommends finding spots on Fifth and Elko streets.) The Spartans were CCS champions and NorCal state runners-up this year. Gonzales Unified School District invites the entire community to cheer on the student-athletes to honor their hard work, dedication and amazing season.


TACOS WITH A COP

KING CITY — King City Police Department will host Tacos with a Cop on Thursday, March 20, from 4 to 5 p.m. at El Toro Taco Shop, 1301 Broadway St., in King City. Grab a taco while chatting with local officers during this community event.


TRAFFIC SAFETY

SOLEDAD — CHP El Protector, a traffic safety community outreach program, is coming to Soledad on Monday, March 24. This free event, hosted by the California Highway Patrol, takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. (NEW TIME) at Hartnell College’s Soledad Education Center, 1505 Metz Road, in Soledad. The presentation will cover a wide range of topics, including seat belt and child safety restraint use, the dangers of impaired or distracted driving, defensive driving techniques and crash prevention strategies. Other subjects include safe driving practices for teens and parents, driver’s license requirements and other CHP educational programs. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.


BONUS BRIEF: FOOD FUNDRAISER

BRADLEY — Nacitone Museum is hosting a Mexican Food Fundraiser on Saturday, March 22, with takeout from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The food includes chile verde, carnitas, beans, rice and tortillas, in addition to a bake sale with homemade goods and drinks for purchase. The museum is located at 68901 Jolon Road in Bradley.
