FARM DAY VOLUNTEERS
KING CITY — Monterey County Ag Education will present South County Farm Day at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City on Thursday, Jan. 23, for local third-grade students only. Volunteers to help guide the classes around or to present on agriculture topics — seeds, crops, healthy choices, equipment, etc. — are needed. “If you can hold a clipboard and say, ‘Follow Me!,’ you’re qualified,” organizers said. A barbecued lunch will be provided. For more information and to sign up, visit MontereyCountyAgEducation.org.
ARMY NOTICE
JOLON — Enhanced security measures have been implemented at all military installations, including at Fort Hunter Liggett and the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area. These measures include the temporary suspension of the Trusted Traveler Program. Effective immediately, every individual in the vehicle will need a DoD Identification Card to gain access to the cantonment. Those who do not have a DoD ID Card will need to go through the Visitor Control Center. Commuters should allow for extra time when accessing the installation, especially during high-traffic times. Suspicious activity can be reported to the FHL Police at 831-386-2513 and Parks at 925-875-4200.
