SHOPPING VOLUNTEERS

SALINAS — Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce is calling for more volunteers to help with the 70th annual Children’s Shopping Tour on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Northridge Mall. Volunteers can sign up for a three-hour shift as either a “chaperone” (one who takes a child or two shopping) or as a “volunteer” (one who helps with processing, giving out gift cards, helping with checkout, etc.). Two shifts are available: 7 to 10 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Those who wish to help must register at salinaschamber.com/childrens-shopping-tour.


OPERATION SANTA

KING CITY — Volunteers are being sought for Operation Santa Claus, which will help nearly 500 families in South Monterey County this holiday season. The event will take place Friday, Dec. 17, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the King City Airport. Help is needed to direct traffic and fill trunks with gifts and food for local families.
