Monterey County Works hosts April job fairs and recruitments

MONTEREY COUNTY — April brings new opportunities for jobseekers in Monterey County as Monterey County Works hosts a series of job fairs and recruitments throughout the month.

Participants can meet multiple employers, explore career options, and grow their skills — no registration required. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes, dress professionally and be ready to engage with employers in person.

Events include a Multiple Employer Job Fair on Wednesday, April 1, at the Salinas Career Center, 344 Salinas St., Suites 205-206, from 1 to 4 p.m.; a Transportation Recruitment on Wednesday, April 8, at the Salinas Career Center, Suite 203, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.; a Multiple Employer Job Fair on Thursday, April 16, hosted with the City of Greenfield at 599 El Camino Real, Greenfield, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.; and another Multiple Employer Job Fair on Wednesday, April 29, at the Salinas Career Center, Suites 205-206, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Spring Egg Hunt planned April 4 in Soledad

SOLEDAD — Soledad Parks and Recreation and the Soledad Lioness Club will host a free Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Orchard Lane Park.

The family-friendly event will feature an egg hunt, games, prizes, a bunny visit and hot dogs while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own baskets.

The celebration is free and open to the public.


Monterey County to host public budget workshop

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual public budget workshop on Tuesday, April 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., as part of preparations for the upcoming fiscal year budget.

The workshop offers the public an opportunity to learn about operations and funding for the county’s 26 departments. During the session, departments will present their funding needs and priorities ahead of formal budget hearings scheduled for May.

Community members can participate or watch the workshop online through several options. The meeting will be accessible via Zoom at montereycty.zoom.us/j/224397747. The workshop will also be streamed live on Facebook at facebook.com/MontereyCoInfo and on YouTube at youtube.com/MontereyCountyTV.
