MONTEREY COUNTY — A Ride and Drive Event will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salinas Amtrak Station, 11 Station Place, in Salinas.

This event, hosted by Ecology Action, highlights electric vehicles (EVs) at all affordability levels and is an opportunity for Monterey County residents to explore, learn about and test drive electric cars.

Local EV owners will be present to answer questions about their experience driving electric. A wide selection of electric cars, trucks and SUVs will be on display, and new models will be available to test drive.

“Community members will be able to have a hands-on experience with these fun vehicles that are better for the environment, our health, and help people save on fuel and maintenance,” according to Ecology Action.

The Ride and Drive Event is part of National Drive Electric Week, a national celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. EV adoption is at an all-time high and is expected to grow exponentially year-by-year as federal, state and regional incentive programs make it more affordable and accessible to drive electric.

Ecology Action EV experts can help determine how much potential buyers qualify for and more at the EV Resource Center. Attendees can speak with bilingual staff and learn how to sign up for the free 1:1 EV Purchase Guidance Program through EVs for Everyone / EVs Para Todos.

The Salinas EV Ride and Drive is a free family-friendly event that offers exciting opportunities for adults and children to learn, connect with and experience electrified transportation.
