King City’s Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration brought the community together on Sunday to pay tribute to Mexican culture and the arts. The Oct. 29 event began with a parade featuring a procession of Catrinas (elegantly dressed skeletons) on Third Street that ended at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, where a festival took place that afternoon with dancing, music and other activities. Sol Treasures, which co-hosted the colorful tradition with La Cocina, will continue to exhibit a community altar to remember loved ones through Nov. 5 at the local gallery, 519 Broadway St.
