More than 50 people gathered Saturday in King City for the “No Kings” march and rally, a peaceful demonstration held in coordination with similar events nationwide calling for government transparency, justice and protection of democratic principles. Participants met at noon near the vacant building next to Safeway before walking along Broadway to the Highway 101 welcome sign and back, carrying signs with such messages as “We Will Not Bow Down to Corruption, Cruelty, Chaos,” “We Have the Power” and “Patriots Protest Tyranny, Traitors Worship Kings.” The March 28 local rally reflected broader national protests, where citizens voiced opposition to the policies and leadership of President Donald Trump and highlighted the importance of constitutional protections.
