MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Superior Court will be transitioning to a new case management system, eCourt, effective Jan. 20.
To ensure a smooth conversion process, residents are asked to observe the following deadlines and filing requirements:
- Effective Jan. 5, electronic filings will no longer be accepted via the court’s electronic filing system, File & Serve.
- Only paper filing will be allowed from Jan. 5-19.
- Effective Jan. 20, electronic filing will resume for all case types via Journal Technology’s Court Portal. Additional information and a web address will be posted on the court’s website in the coming weeks.
From Jan. 5 through Jan. 19, the Court will only accept paper filings for all matters, which must be accompanied by the appropriate filing fees.
Any questions regarding the status of specific filings, filing and calendaring timeframes, or applicable filing fees should be directed to the appropriate division directly.
All documents submitted for filing must conform to the California Rules of Court Title Two.
Due to system upgrades, the court’s public phone lines will be reduced to 8:30 a.m. to noon through Jan. 30. Phone lines will return to normal beginning Feb. 2.
“The Court appreciates the patience and cooperation of counsel, the public and our justice partners as we work to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption,” stated the Court in a news release.
