MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Elections has released the final certified results for the Nov. 5 Presidential General Election, revealing a total of 148,916 votes cast locally.

This marks the second highest total in the county’s presidential election history, with a turnout rate of 69.3% based on a registration figure of 214,883 voters.

Registrar of Voters Gina Martinez expressed her gratitude to the community for its engagement in the electoral process.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the voters and candidates of Monterey County for their commitment to democracy and participation in this election,” Martinez stated. “We are especially thankful for our poll workers, emergency planning response partners and dedicated staff members who worked tirelessly to ensure every ballot was processed securely and accurately.”

The success of this year’s election, according to Martinez, can be attributed to the collaborative efforts of community partners, various departments from the County of Monterey, and emergency planning and response agencies across multiple jurisdictions.

“All played a vital role in facilitating safe, fair, transparent and accessible voting options,” she said.
