MONTEREY COUNTY — The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 4 Statewide Special Election is Monday, Oct. 20, announced Monterey County Elections.
Eligible citizens can register to vote:
- Online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 20;
- In-person by 5 p.m. at the Monterey County Elections office, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, Salinas;
- By mail, completing a paper voter registration application, postmarked by Oct. 20. The forms are available at libraries, post offices, DMV and city/county offices.
To register to vote, you must be: (1) a United States Citizen; (2) a California resident; (3) at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day; (4) not be in federal or state prison for the conviction of a felony; and (5) not found mentally incompetent to vote by a court.
Voters who miss the registration deadline can still register conditionally and cast a provisional ballot in person at any early vote location or at a local polling place.
