MONTEREY COUNTY — Ballots for the June 7 Statewide Direct Primary Election will begin mailing to all Monterey County voters by May 9, with some voters receiving their ballots as early as last weekend.
Although all voters will receive a ballot in the mail, in-person voting opportunities are available for those who need assistance or wish to vote in person. Early vote locations will open on different dates.
In-person voting locations include:
- Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, Salinas — May 9-June 7, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Satellite Vote Location at Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey, Seaside — June 2-7, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both locations will be open for special weekend hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5. On Election Day, Tuesday, June 7, both early voting locations and polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
As a result of redistricting, many voters in Monterey County will see significant changes beginning this election. These changes include new Congressional and Assembly Districts and candidates. Some voters will also be voting in a different district for the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.
In addition, polling places may have changed to a new location or to a mail ballot precinct. Monterey County Elections Department is recruiting for poll workers, who can apply by visiting montereycountyelections.us/poll-worker-application.
