To the Editor:
When are the Democrats in office going to grow a pair and speak out, get in front of a microphone, get on TV? Every day, Democrats should be talking about the lies, talking about Project 2025. Their messaging is terrible. When are the Republicans going to grow a pair and stand up for the rule of law and the Constitution?
In the March 26 Rustler/Tribune, “Weekly Gatherings to Amplify ‘We the People’” by Susan Raycraft and “Protect Critical Funding to Safeguard Local Healthcare Services” by Rena Salamacha are right on target. The richest of the rich running this government is going to bring the USA to its knees.
The rule of law is slipping away for most of us. The first four years of Trump in office was testing the water. People, this is not a drill. We are heading for fascism, a totalitarian government and dictatorship. Totalitarianism definition: a political system, a form of government that prohibits opposition from political parties. Fascism: a far right authoritarian political movement characterized by a dictatorial leader.
Medicare and Social Security are slipping away. They want to privatize it. The rule of law is slipping away; 7,000 laid off from Social Security. Medicare — a target. Medicaid — a target. Social Security — a target. USPS — a target. Climate change — a target. By making America great again, we are losing, except for those in power and a select few.
The way we are going, activists could be charged with domestic terrorism just for exercising their First Amendment right to protest. Poll workers have been harassed for doing their job. Law firms not leaning Trump’s way have been strong armed. Judges and family members have been called low life.
Republican governors, speak out, please. Democratic governors, speak out, please. Congress, speak out. Senators, speak out. Americans, speak out.
Trump fired anybody not loyal to him and put all Trump loyalists in his Cabinet. Sounds like a dictatorship to me. It took Germany about four decades to figure out Hitler was a conman. Let’s hope it does not take that long in the U.S.
Trump = total chaos, total conman, total disfunction.
