To the Editor:

On behalf of the members of the Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated, I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the unbelievable generosity and support we received for our annual Salad Bar Scholarship Luncheon, which was held on Friday, April 25.

We were overwhelmed by the donations from local businesses, our members and the community for the food, raffle and silent auction prizes. Special thanks to the musical talents of Jeff Pereira and a ā€œsurpriseā€ appearance on stage of Sheriff Steve Bernal, and to the King City Rustler, KRKC and the King City Chamber News for getting the word out.

Two King City High School seniors, Hayden Munoz and Amity Hearne, were chosen to each receive a $1,000 scholarship, which will be presented to them at our Aug. 5 dinner meeting to be held at the Cork & Plough restaurant.
