To the Editor:

Wow, another wonderful King City Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade!

First, we want to thank our Parade sponsors Mee Memorial Healthcare System and Delicato Family Wines for their support. We thank all our members; without them the parade would not be possible.

Special thanks to the King City Police Department for their work in keeping our parade route safe. Thanks also to Benitez Security for their participation. And of course, we wish to thank all the participants and volunteers for their hard work.

One volunteer especially needs to be thanked. Victor Cervantes did a fantastic job of lining up the floats and entries at the Fairgrounds. He is our hero. Thank you, Victor! Thanks also to the Fort Hunter Liggett command staff for participating, along with their color guard.

This year we had 39 entries, some with multiple vehicles. We have had wonderful comments from the viewers about the car clubs for all the lighted vehicles. Great job! Other notable comments from viewers: the Waste Management truck with a movable lift, and the King City Fire Department and one other vehicle had Grinches to the delight of our viewers.

Award winners in each category were:

  • Business Merchant ā€” Delicato Family Wines, first place; King City Vet Clinic, second place; and Vertis, third place.
  • Public Service ā€” Cal Fire, first place; King City Volunteer Fire Department, second place; and Mee Memorial, third place.
  • Clubs or Organizations ā€” Bitterwater Tully School, first place; KCHS Interact Club, second place; and King City in Bloom, third place.
  • Individuals/Others ā€” Sandoval Eventos, first place; Aiden Kerr, second place; and Alessandro Chavez, third place.
