KING CITY — City Manager Steve Adams has announced his plans to retire at the end of the year, concluding a decade of leadership in King City and 43 years in public service.
Adams, who has served as city manager since 2015, expressed gratitude to the community, city staff and elected officials.
“Thank you so much to the City Council, staff and community for your tremendous support and partnership in our efforts to improve the quality of life in the community during the time I have worked here — it has been a great team effort,” he said in a news release Wednesday.
King City Council is scheduled to discuss the recruitment and selection process for Adams’ successor at its upcoming meeting on May 27. Adams has pledged to remain in his role until the new city manager is appointed to ensure a smooth transition, which is anticipated to take place in early January 2026.
