King City FFA starts new school year with new goals, officers

KING CITY — King City FFA is enhancing their journey; it’s a brand-new school year and they have new goals, new officers and new ideas.

Some of the objectives they hope to reach include being more involved in the community as well as having more flexible meeting times.

The organization has five returning officers and four brand new ones, giving the leadership team a mix of old wisdom and new skills.

The 2023-24 president is Roxana Lopez-Hernandez; Samantha Roach and Samuel Hearne are vice presidents; Alexa Macias Delgado and Amity Hearne are the secretaries; Jenna Vanoli is treasurer; Zoe Reyes is reporter; Aubree Taylor is sentinel; and Aaliyah Sarina is the historian.

The first meeting of the year was a success with over 200 members in attendance. It had a slip-n-slide kickball theme, which included a great blend of competition and fun.

First-year and second-year members of the FFA will soon be honored by receiving either their Greenhand or Chapter degrees on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. in the KCHS auditorium. Parents and students are invited.
