KING CITY — Hands That Help SoMoCo, a new all-volunteer organization, recently hosted its first dinner event, which was a show of support for beloved community member Christina Willoughby.
“Hands That Help SoMoCo would like to extend their most heartfelt thank you to the amazing community of donors and volunteers, restaurant KC Grille and friends,” stated the organization. “Your generosity for our first dinner event on Jan. 22 helped make it a huge success.”
Willoughby, who is battling cancer, was overwhelmed with the support from all who attended the Jan. 22 event.
“Christina looked beautiful and spoke with grace and composure and even a little humor when she announced with a smile that she ‘did not know’ she had ‘this many friends,’” according to Hands That Help SoMoCo.
The organization stated that the dinner at KC Grille was great, and there were tons of raffle gifts and silent auction items. All proceeds from the event went directly to the recipient, Willoughby.
“It was time for King City and South Monterey County to shine and show what our community does best,” the organization added. “Coming together, lending a hand to those in need and stepping up a simple act that has a big impact.”
