JOLON — A blade overlay project on Jolon Road began Tuesday, the County of Monterey announced.
Construction is taking place along Jolon Road and may also affect traffic on Argyle and Mission roads in South Monterey County. The project is expected to last about three weeks, with completion anticipated by June 5.
Work includes sweeping and cleaning the roadway, applying emulsion oil and placing asphalt with a motor grader. Operations are scheduled during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Traffic control measures are in place throughout the project and may include pilot cars, flaggers and temporary one-lane closures. Motorists should expect possible delays of up to 15 minutes and are advised to use caution in the work zone.
County crews are performing the work and said they will provide updates on progress and traffic impacts as needed.
“The County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during these roadway improvements,” officials said.
