KING CITY — Hands That Help SoMoCo, a dedicated volunteer organization, hosted its second fundraising event on April 23 at the King City Grille, demonstrating the community’s generosity and unity in supporting those in need.

The event, which was completely sold out, focused on aiding Desirae Sainz of King City, the organization’s spring recipient. Sainz is currently battling breast cancer, and her family expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community.

“Desirae and her family are truly thankful for the generosity, support and help the community has contributed to this cause,” said Hands That Help SoMoCo.

Organized by a committed group of volunteers from Gonzales to Bradley, the fundraiser exemplifies the organization’s mission to bring the community together to support individuals facing health crises. As a 100% volunteer-driven organization operating without a budget, all proceeds from meal ticket sales went directly to the hosting restaurant, while 100% of donations made during the event were given to Sainz that same evening.

The event featured raffle prizes and an online auction, which organizers described as a “hit” among attendees.

“Our group of volunteers, serving from Gonzales to Bradley, are committed to help sponsor and organize fundraisers for those in need,” said Hands That Help SoMoCo. “The mission is simple, to bring our community together to support those in need.”

A special thanks was extended to donors, volunteers, attendees and Ron at the King City Grille for making the event possible.

“We could not do this without you,” the organization stated.

Looking ahead, Hands That Help SoMoCo announced, “Watch for the next” event, promising continued efforts to support local residents facing health challenges.
