GREENFIELD — A 36-year-old Greenfield woman died Tuesday afternoon in an accident between her vehicle and a motorhome on Highway 101 south of Lagomarsino Avenue, between King City and Greenfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at about 2:22 p.m. on Aug. 22, the woman was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla eastbound on a private dirt agricultural road toward Highway 101 at an unknown speed when she failed to yield to the right of way of southbound traffic. She entered the southbound lanes and was struck broadside by a 2016 Coachmen 32-foot RV, driven by John Axton of Macclesfield, United Kingdom.

The motorhome, which was traveling at about 60 mph, came to rest on its right side on the east shoulder of the highway, while the Toyota landed within the northbound left turning lane to the private road.

The woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision, police said. Her name is being withheld pending notification of kin.

Axton and the other occupants of the motorhome were not injured.
