SALINAS VALLEY — Young ladies who are passionate about the Western lifestyle and promoting the rodeo industry can compete for the Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2024 title July 5-7, with the winner being announced on July 7.
Entries close on Monday, May 6. The winner will travel throughout California promoting the largest rodeo in the state, the California Rodeo Salinas.
The competition is open to young women between 18 and 24 years of age who are representing a recognized horsemen’s organization or another recognized non-commercial community organization.
The contest consists of horsemanship, personality and appearance, and scholarship categories; it starts Friday, July 5, and Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2023 Rose Escobar and Rodeo President Steve Davis will present the winner with her title on Sunday, July 7.
The winner will receive a $3,000 academic scholarship, a gold and silver trophy belt buckle, the use of a two-horse trailer for one year along with many other gifts, and the privilege of wearing the Miss California Rodeo Salinas gold and silver tiara.
Escobar had many experiences this past year and said, “This has been the best year of my life, traveling to events, educating children and adults about rodeo, and promoting the largest rodeo in the state. It has truly been a dream come true!”
