KING CITY – The City Council of King decided to move forward with the Monterey Bay Community Power JPA with a 3-1 vote on Feb. 28.
“We have been very impressed by the work of both groups,” City Manager Steve Adams said. “Both groups have been very helpful to staff in putting this (feasibility studies) together and very responsive.”
The city council heard from Monterey Bay Community Power JPA representative Shawn Marshall and Pilot Power Group Kelly Foley. Marshall is part of Lean Energy US, a nonprofit organization that has been in existence since 2011, and launched the first CCA program in the State of California.
“Everybody wants to offer competitive rates, and the technical study that was commissioned by the PETA (Petrographical Analysis Report) did indicate rate savings along with significant increase in renewables and greenhouse gas emission reductions,” Marshall said….
