MONTEREY COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory for areas of Monterey County in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 6.

Residents are advised to stay safe by drinking fluids, remaining in air-conditioned rooms and staying out of the sun.
