SALINAS VALLEY — California Rodeo Salinas recently announced that it has distributed $854,035 to nonprofits, Western heritage organizations and community groups across the region.

These funds, which increased by 7% over 2024, reflect the Rodeo’s ongoing commitment to giving back and ensuring that local programs and services continue to thrive.

This year’s total was made possible through the collective efforts of volunteers and partner groups who operated parking lots, concessions, ushering and other essential services at events hosted by the California Rodeo Association between October 2024 and September 2025. Additional support came from discounted facility rentals, complimentary tickets for charitable initiatives, expanded scholarship programs and contributions to VetTix.

Recipients include a diverse range of organizations, such as ARIEL Theatrical; California High School Rodeo District 4; the Filipino Community of Salinas Valley; Hope, Horses & Kids; North Salinas High School Band; Rancho San Juan FFA; Monterey Bay Veterans; Sun Street Centers and the Grower Shipper Association Foundation. A full list of beneficiaries is available at CARodeo.com.

“Each year, we are reminded that the success of the California Rodeo Salinas reaches far beyond the arena,” said Steve Davis, president of the California Rodeo Salinas. “Our ability to contribute to so many organizations — whether they support youth, education, veterans or cultural programs — shows the true power of community. We are honored to play a role in strengthening these vital efforts and look forward to seeing the positive impact for years to come.”

On Sept. 18, representatives from local organizations attended a presentation to receive their checks, many noting that the funding will help cover costs for uniforms, travel, facility upgrades, scholarships, leadership development and other enrichment opportunities.

The 116th California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 16-19, 2026. For more information, visit CARodeo.com or contact the Rodeo Office at 831-775-3100.
