Joao F. Godinho, 67, of King City, passed away at home, surrounded by family, Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Joao was born February 24, 1950 in Posto Santo, Azores and had been a resident of Monterey County for 40 years. He greatly enjoyed working around the house and garage, where he would often fix and repair anything that needed it.
He volunteered often for the various local Portuguese organizations and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in King City.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maria Godinho of King City; sons, Paulo (Alejandrina) Godinho of Soledad, Norbert (Tiffany) Godinho of Roseville; grandchildren, Alexis, Celeste, Grayson, and Tanner; siblings, Pedro Godinho of King City, Jose (Angela) Godinho of Canada, Fatima Godinho of Canada, Leanor Andrade of Hemet, Bernardina Nunez of the Azores; and many nieces and nephews. Joao was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio & Maria Godinho, brother, Antonio Godinho.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm at Woodyard Funeral Home; followed with rosary service at 7 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, King City; followed with burial at the King City Cemetery.
