KING CITY — Last Saturday, Oct. 6, a deputy with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle check on a suspicious vehicle on Central Avenue in King City.
The deputy found Jamie Alvarado asleep in the driver’s seat. Believing the male may be intoxicated, the deputy looked through the windows for alcohol containers and instead saw a handgun lying within reach of the male.
California Highway Patrol officers from King City arrived and conducted a DUI investigation. They determined Alvarado had been driving impaired and placed him under arrest for DUI and possession of the firearm.
