SOUTH COUNTY — The King City Lady Mustang softball team put on an offensive show by scoring tons of runs in lopsided wins over Gonzales and Trinity Christian. King City beat the Spartans at home 14-3, and downed the Warriors 13-3.

During the April 24 game with Gonzales, Mikayla Davis reached base in the first inning and then scored on a triple by Megan Flores. A walk to Buddy Camacho placed two runners on the base paths. Mari Cenobio then scored Flores and Camacho with a basehit.

The third inning was an explosive inning as Camacho, Flores, Cenobio, Julie Arreola, and Kali Holt hit doubles. Caroline Martinez and Chelsey Lopez added singles in the 11-run inning. Mikayla Davis earned the pitching victory and struck out four Spartan batters.

On Friday the Lady Mustangs started the game against Trinity Christian with three runs in the first inning. Martinez hit a triple then scored on a single by Davis. A single by Arreola and a walk to Camacho loaded the bases then Flores and Arreola scored on an error.

In the second inning Martinez led off with a single, and Davis received a walk. The runners then scored on a basehit by Arreola. In the fourth inning Flores led off with a single and scored on a hit by Arreola. A single by Camacho scored Arreola. Singles by Chelsey Lopez and Martinez helped produced five runs. Flores, and Cenobio hits singles in the fifth and Arreola finished the game with a double.
