Monterey County Works presents August hiring events
SALINAS — Monterey County Works will host a series of hiring events in August to connect job seekers with employers actively recruiting for positions throughout Monterey County.
The events, scheduled for Aug. 5, 12 and 26, will include multiple employer job fairs and a transportation industry recruitment event. The first two events will be held at the Monterey County Works Salinas Career Center, 344 Salinas St. in Salinas, and the final job fair will take place at Monterey Adult School, 1295 La Salle Ave. in Seaside. Times vary by event, ranging from 1 to 4 p.m.
“Whether you’re exploring a new career, re-entering the workforce or searching for your next opportunity, these free events offer a chance to meet hiring managers, learn about available positions and take the next step toward employment,” said Executive Director Christopher Donnelly.

Candidate filing deadline nears for November election
MONTEREY COUNTY — The candidate filing period for elective offices in the Nov. 3 general election will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7.
Candidates for county offices must complete and submit their nomination documents to the Monterey County Elections Department, 1441 Schilling Place, North Building, in Salinas. Candidates seeking city offices must file with their respective city clerk.

Sol Treasures hosts free summer concert
KING CITY — Sol Treasures will continue its Backyard Concert Series with a free performance by Paradise Road on Friday, Aug. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family-friendly event is open to all ages, with live music, tables and chairs provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and enjoy an evening of summer entertainment.
Admission is free. Sol Treasures is located at 519 Broadway St. in King City.
