
KING CITY — Seventh-grade students at Chalone Peaks Middle School in King City stepped back in time May 23 as part of the campus was transformed into a lively Medieval Faire filled with pageantry, hands-on learning and interactive activities.
The annual event immersed students in the traditions of the medieval era while bringing history lessons to life through engaging experiences. Dressed in themed attire, students began the day with a festive parade leading to the Queen’s Pavilion, where they were welcomed into a day of exploration and adventure.
Throughout the faire, students rotated through a variety of educational stations designed to showcase medieval life and culture. A medieval-themed lunch added to the immersive atmosphere.
School officials said the event encouraged students to think critically while experiencing history in a memorable and hands-on way.
The Medieval Faire has become a beloved tradition at Chalone Peaks Middle School, providing students with an engaging opportunity to connect classroom learning with creativity, collaboration and school spirit.
Among those attending the event were Monterey County Office of Education Deputy Superintendent Ralph Porras and Monterey County Board of Education member Annette Yee Steck, who joined students and staff in celebrating the school’s commitment to innovative learning opportunities.
