Salinas Valley Art Gallery names April featured artist
SALINAS — Larinda Sawyer will be the featured artist for April at Salinas Valley Art Gallery, with her work on display March 30 through April 25.
A First Friday reception is scheduled for April 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., where Sawyer will discuss her creative process and artistic journey. Sawyer, a Watsonville-based artist and healer, works in intuitive painting and shamanic practices, creating vibrant abstract pieces inspired by emotion and personal experience.
The gallery also features works by other artists, including glass creations by Tyler Clark, with seasonal and Easter-themed pieces available.

Greenfield plans family-friendly Easter celebration
GREENFIELD — Families in Greenfield are invited to celebrate the season at the city’s upcoming Easter event, hosted by the Greenfield Recreation Department.
The festive gathering will take place on Friday, March 27, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Patriot Park.
The event promises an afternoon of family-friendly fun, including Easter egg activities for children, interactive games and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. SVSWA hosts free tire disposal event
SALINAS VALLEY — Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority will host a Tire Amnesty Event from March 28 through June 30, offering residents free disposal of used tires.
The program will be available at three locations: the Madison Lane Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 1104 Madison Lane in Salinas; the Johnson Canyon Landfill, 31400 Johnson Canyon Road in Gonzales; and the Jolon Road Transfer Station, 52654 Jolon Road in King City.
Officials encourage residents to take advantage of the event to properly dispose of unwanted tires at no cost. The program includes a limit of nine tires per trip. For more information, call 831-775-3000.
