HARTNELL HONOR ROLL

SALINAS VALLEY — Hartnell College is recognizing the academic excellence of 1,989 students who earned placement on the President’s Honor Roll or Dean’s List for the Fall 2025 semester. To qualify for either distinction, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units and demonstrate outstanding academic performance. A total of 798 students were named to the Dean’s List, earning a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49. An additional 1,191 students earned placement on the President’s Honor Roll by achieving a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0. Students recognized for this achievement will receive an official letter from the Hartnell Community College District acknowledging their academic success. JURASSIC QUEST

MONTEREY — Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live will join forces for a three-day family event Feb. 20-22 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, 2004 Fairground Road, in Monterey. The combined show features life-size animatronic dinosaurs alongside hands-on brick-building attractions, with one ticket providing all-day access to both experiences. Organizers say the event is designed to blend entertainment with science, technology, engineering, art and math learning. Jurassic Quest includes moving dinosaur displays, fossil exhibits, live shows, rides and interactive activities, such as a fossil dig and scavenger hunt. Brick Fest Live offers building stations with more than a million bricks, large-scale models, racing challenges and other creative play areas. Discounts are available for first responders through GovX. A “Lights Down, Sound Down” session is planned Saturday morning before opening for families with children who have special needs. FIRST TEE SCHOLARSHIPS

MONTEREY COUNTY — First Tee Monterey County is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program, offering local students access to multiple scholarship opportunities through a single application. Designed to support graduating high school seniors as they pursue higher education, the First Tee scholarship program will award approximately $37,500 in total funding, with individual students eligible to receive up to $10,000. A unique feature of the program allows students to be considered for five scholarship opportunities with one application, streamlining the process and increasing access for eligible students. Interested students who are not currently active participants in First Tee are encouraged to contact the organization to learn how to enroll in a free membership, which may qualify them to apply. Scholarship funds may be used to support tuition and educational expenses at accredited colleges, universities or post-secondary programs. MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County Board of Directors elected new officers and Executive Committee members at its Jan. 28 meeting, with terms running through January 2027. Chaps Poduri was elected chair; Luis Alejo will serve as first vice chair and Jose Rios as second vice chair; and Wendy Root Askew will serve as past chair. The board also selected Glenn Church as the county representative and Dennis Donohue as the city representative on the Executive Committee.
