SALINAS VALLEY — Salinas Regional Soccer Complex announced Jan. 28 a five-year, $250,000 partnership with Costa Family Restaurants in support of the facility’s continued growth and expansion.

Complex officials said the investment represents a major commitment to the future of the site, which currently draws more than 11,500 people each week to its lighted fields, year-round programs and regional and statewide tournaments. The complex has become a community hub and an economic driver for the Salinas Valley, hosting teams and visitors from across the region.

Costa Family Restaurants operates eight McDonald’s locations throughout Salinas and the Salinas Valley, and new banners recognizing the partnership have been installed around the sports facility.

Salinas Regional Soccer Complex is managed by the Salinas Regional Sports Authority, a 501(c)(3) organization, and serves as a regional hub for youth and recreational athletics in Monterey County.

The partnership comes as the facility continues its $45 million capital campaign. Phase 3 is now underway and will add seven tournament-size grass fields and eight soccer sand courts to meet increasing demand.

When fully built out, the complex is expected to serve more than 22,000 people weekly and become the largest sports facility of its kind between Los Angeles and San Francisco, according to officials.

“This investment is about community impact and opportunity, and we’re proud to keep building the future together,” said complex officials.
