SALINAS VALLEY — Pacific Coast Athletic League All-League football teams were announced recently, and the King City Mustangs dominated the Mission South Division with several first-team players.

Carson Tidwell of King City was chosen as the Most Valuable Player and first-team running back. Rocky Villanueva was named Defensive Player of the Year and first-team linebacker on defense and first-team utility player on offense.

Armando Villasenor and Emmanuel Garcia-Loa joined Tidwell and Villanueva as first-team all-league players on the offensive line.

Mustangs chosen on the first-team defensive unit along with Villanueva were linemen Villasenor, Johell Carrillo and Benjamin Bolanos as a defensive back.

Second-team offensive players for King City were Alexander Macias at receiver and Jden Hernandez on the offensive line.

Travis Ryan of Greenfield was chosen as a first-team offensive player at running back and Raul Luengas was a first-team offensive lineman. Bruins’ Santana Vegas was a second-team offensive player on the offensive line.

Chosen to the second-team defensive unit from Greenfield were Nisael Gonzalez (lineman); Angel Hernandez and Francisco Hernandez (linebacker); and Kenny Pajas (defensive back).

Soledad had six players chosen second-team offense: Daniel Valenzuela Jr. at quarterback; Ayden Raso at receiver; Daniel Garcia at utility; and Andrew Medina, Gabriel Chavez and Xavier Ovalle as linemen. Christian Gonzalez was a first-team defensive player at defensive back, Valenzuela was a second-team player at defensive back and Raso was a second-team defensive back.

Chosen to the Mission South Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team were: Tony Hernandez (Greenfield); Fernando Camacho (King City); and Daniel Valenzuela (Soledad).

Gonzales High played in the Santa Lucia Division and had two players chosen first-team all-league. Luis Cabada was picked as a tight end for the first-team offense and Jorge Uribe was chosen as defensive back for the first-team defense.

Uribe was also selected as a wide receiver for the second-team offense, along with Hugo Soto as a lineman. Chosen as second-team defense for Gonzales were: Joshua Mariscal (lineman); Gabriel Prieto (linebacker); Aaron Hernandez (defensive back); and Jaden Uribe (defensive back).

Jeffrey Schweitzer was a member of the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team.
