DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

SAN ARDO — Beginning Nov. 18, Granite Construction Company, under a contract with the County of Monterey, will be installing an infiltration chamber on Railroad Avenue and Short Street in San Ardo. The chamber will be situated below grade in front of the post office. Its purpose is to eliminate ponding in the area by collecting stormwater and routing it to the chamber from which collected runoff will infiltrate the subsurface. Work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays, taking about three weeks to complete. During construction, Railroad Avenue will be closed between Alley A and Short Street. A walkway to the post office from the parking area in front of the San Ardo Cafe will be provided.
