SOLEDAD — Soledad Chamber is hosting its sixth annual Spook Fest at Cesar Chavez Park on Friday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. The event features various Halloween-themed activities, including a pet costume contest, trunk or treat, pumpkin painting contest, games, music and more. Participants of all ages are encouraged to join, with special activities for kids, such as pumpkin painting. FINAL LISTENING SESSION
SAN LUCAS — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will be hosting the final community listening session of the year on Monday, Nov. 3, in San Lucas. HARMONY GRANT
MONTEREY COUNTY — Harmony At Home has been awarded a two-year grant totaling $100,000 from the Community Foundation for Monterey County, supported by the Cyrus F. Fitton Fund and Rapa Trust Fund. The funding, allocated as $50,000 annually, will support the organization’s Social and Emotional Support programs. The grant period runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027. The grant will enable Harmony At Home to continue providing mental health and emotional support services to children, youth and families across Monterey County. These programs are vital in helping young people develop resilience, coping skills and emotional well-being. Founded over 20 years ago, Harmony At Home focuses on breaking cycles of violence and promoting emotional wellness through initiatives in schools, homes, and neighborhoods.
