MONTEREY COUNTY — The combined Monterey County Elections Ballot and local Voter Information Pamphlet began mailing last week for the Nov. 4 Statewide Special Election.
State Voter Information Guides are now in the mail and will continue to mail into this week. All active voters will receive a ballot in the mail and in-person voting options will be available.
Monterey County Elections announced the following important dates:
- Sept. 26 – State Voter Information Guides begin mailing
- Oct. 2 – Ballots tentatively scheduled to begin mailing
- Oct. 6 – Ballots will be mailed no later than this date; in-person voting available at the Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place – Salinas
- Oct. 20 – Deadline to register to vote
- Oct. 21 – Same day voter registration period begins
- Oct. 28 – Last day the Elections Office will mail ballots to voters; last recommended day for voters to return ballots via USPS
- Oct. 31 – Elections Satellite Office, Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Blvd, Seaside opens for early in-person voting
- Nov. 1-2 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weekend Voting at Monterey County Elections and Satellite Office at Embassy Suites in Seaside
- Nov. 4 – Last day to vote in-person or return your ballot. Voting ends at 8 p.m.
The local voter information guide is available online at tinyurl.com/voter-guide-and-polls-locator, and the state voter guide can be found at voterguide.sos.ca.gov.
Voters can check their voter information by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov, and can track their ballot at every step of the way by signing up for BallotTrax at montereycounty.ballottrax.net/voter/.
