FAIR VOLUNTEERS

MONTEREY — Monterey County Fair is calling on community members to be part of one of the area’s most beloved annual traditions. The 2025 Monterey County Fair will take place Thursday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Sept. 1, and the Fair is currently seeking volunteers to help bring this year’s event to life. Volunteer opportunities begin Sunday, Aug. 17, and continue through Tuesday, Sept. 2, covering a wide range of roles, including exhibit setup, judging assistance, guest services, building hosts and more. A Volunteer Orientation will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Seaside Room at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. All volunteers are encouraged to attend. Entry is through Gate 5. In addition, volunteers will have access to free Fair admission for the day of their shift and a one-day parking pass valid for any paid Fair parking lot. MOVIE NIGHT

GONZALES — Community members are invited to attend Movie Night at the Gonzales Community Pool on Friday, Aug. 8. Gates open at 8 p.m., with the movie—“Shrek”—starting at 8:30 p.m. There will be snacks, food and beverages available for purchase. All ages welcome. Tickets can be purchased at Gonzales City Hall or at the pool, 205 Elko St.


JOB FAIR

GREENFIELD — Monterey County Works is encouraging local jobseekers to take advantage of in-person employment opportunities by attending the upcoming City of Greenfield and multiple employer job fair on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Greenfield Civic Center, 599 El Camino Real. In addition to the Greenfield event, there are several other recruitment opportunities scheduled for August at the Salinas Career Center, including a transportation industry recruitment on Aug. 6, an agricultural industry recruitment on Aug. 20 and a multiple employer job fair on Aug. 27, all from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Jobseekers needing help with resumes or interview preparation are encouraged to contact the Monterey County Works Career Center at 831-796-3335.
