Did you know the month of July was named after Julius Caesar? An online search revealed that flowers that represent July include larkspur and water lily and people born in the month of July are known to be naturally adventurous, kind and sympathetic.
- For MCFL, July means Summer Reading Club and Lunch at your Library. Summer is a great time to read and take an adventure in a book. Summer programs continue in July at all our libraries, so make sure to see whatās happening on the Eventās Calendar. As summer winds down, make sure to finish your reading minutes or challenges and visit your local library to get your finisher prize for all the book adventures you had this summer.
- Summer is a great time for adventures or taking a road trip! Did you know that your local library has California State Park Passes? You can check them out with your library card and visit a State Park for free. California has so many beautiful places to see. Ask at your local branch about California State Park Passes.
- Did you read any good books this summer? Our resource of the month, BookBrowse is a great way to find more good books that you may want to read. Get book recommendations and suggested read-a-likes and peruse interesting titles. BookBrowse is a great way to discover new books. Also, if you find a book you want which we donāt have in our collection, you can recommend it for purchase.
- During the month of July, we recognize and celebrate Disability Pride! Make sure to look on our Facebook and Instagram pages for featured authors and look for book or movie displays at your local libraries.
- MCFL observes the July 4th national holiday and Independence Day. All branch libraries and the Administrative Office will be closed on Friday, July 4.Ā
