BRADLEY — Lake San Antonio’s South Shore will be temporarily closed to the public from Thursday, May 1, to Sunday, May 4, to accommodate the highly anticipated Wildflower Experience — a three-day event that includes a weekend festival and triathlon featuring biking, running and swimming.

The Wildflower Experience is expected to attract an impressive crowd of about 7,000 participants, spectators, volunteers and event staff. The festival will showcase live entertainment, a celebration beer garden, wine tastings and informative race clinics, making it a weekend of fun and fitness for attendees of all ages.

Interested individuals can find more race details at the Wildflower website wildflowerexperience.com.

Access to South Shore will be restricted starting at sunset on Wednesday, April 30, with reopening scheduled for 7 a.m. on Monday, May 5, ensuring safety and a better experience for attendees. Meanwhile, North Shore will remain open throughout the event, allowing for continued public access.

Boating activities will not face restrictions on North Shore during the race days; however, boaters are advised to avoid the designated swimming area. The swim event is set to take place between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Road closures will be implemented around the lake as the bicycle and running portions of the triathlon traverse the surrounding roads. California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office will manage rolling road closures to ensure the safety of participants and attendees alike.
