KING CITY — Mee Memorial Healthcare System’s (MMHS) King City Clinic has received the 2023 HEDIS award, honoring a commitment to delivering exceptional services for the second year in a row.

The audit period runs from January through June and measures care that was delivered in the prior calendar year.

“It is an honor to receive this prestigious award for the second year running,” said Heidi Pattison, Director of Clinic Services. “We have a dedicated team who work tirelessly every day to serve the South County community. I am proud of their achievement.”

The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures performance in healthcare where improvements can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The HEDIS audit evaluates how well the alliance network of providers is delivering services to its patients.

In addition, the audit subjects specific healthcare data elements to integrity checks, tests of completeness, transparency of reporting, compliance checks and verification of services.

HEDIS includes more than 90 measures across six domains of care:

  • Effectiveness of Care;
  • Access/Availability of Care;
  • Experience of Care;
  • Utilization and Risk Adjusted Utilization;
  • Health Plan Descriptive Information; and
  • Measures Reported Using Electronic Clinical Data Systems.

More than 227 million people are enrolled in plans that report HEDIS results, making HEDIS one of health care’s most widely used performance improvement tools.

Mee Memorial Healthcare System is dedicated to providing culturally sensitive, patient-centered healthcare with the highest standards of service. With a hospital in King City and multiple outpatient clinics, including the comprehensive Albert and Donna Oliveira Clinic in Greenfield, MMHS serves as the primary healthcare provider for nearly 80,000 residents across southern Monterey County.
